We can learn a lot about a person if we know what types of things he or she talks about or comments on the most frequently. There are numerous topics with which George Groves is associated, including Badou Jack, Las Vegas Strip, and fight. Most recently, George Groves has been quoted saying: “I've never really felt like I'm a 'shot' fighter or that my best days are behind me,” in the article LONG READ George Groves: 'I still think I'm better than both Carl Froch and Badou Jack'.
"I'd like him to stay at super-middleweight because there are bigger fights for him there. At middleweight, there's not so much going on. I like Eubank, I like his style. I think he needs a few more learning fights before he steps up to the plate ag[...]
"It's probably been a process for me, though, in terms of recovering from losing first of all to Carl Froch and then losing again in spectacular fashion. There's no better – or worse – way to lose than in a stadium where you're knocked out for the f[...]
"I've never really felt like I'm a 'shot' fighter or that my best days are behind me,"
A win against Murray on the biggest stage, will open a lot of doors and bring me a step closer to achieving my goal of becoming world champion. I'm fully expecting it to be a war, I can't wait.
"I'm very excited to be defending my WBA international belt against Martin Murray back at the O2,". "I've had two great performances this year, both in London and the latest one back at The O2. It's always a happy hunting ground for me.
Martin is the perfect fight for me at this stage. He's a seasoned campaigner, who's boxed at the highest level for quite some time. He is a world level opponent and I'll have to be fully focused and prepared to beat him.
I had a good performance last time out against Di Luisa and I will be using that momentum going in this fight. Hopefully I'll get a similar result and we can move on to the bigger fights in the summer.
"It's nice to be in a domestic dust-up!". "David is an undefeated fighter so I'm sure he will be coming with a lot of confidence. It's great to be back on Sky Sports and part of a great Box Office line-up. I'm looking forward to it.
I'm sure it won't be long until back in the World title mix. There's plenty of big fights out there for me, and I'm willing to fight anyone, so we will see what routes open for me.
The work with Shane is going well. I think we will see even more improvements. The sparring has been better, the technical sessions have been better. I think that will come out more and more in this next fight.
"He helped me, came to me when I needed a trainer most, before the first Carl Froch fight,". "I felt I was unlucky in that fight and since then the performances have got progressively – worse is a harsh word – but they weren't as good, fight on figh[...]
The Badou Jack fight was a good performance but it wasn't good enough. So it was time to part ways but I wish him well.
"We're feeling good,"
"I have been fortunate enough to experience some of the greatest feelings the sport can give,"
Rust is more mental than anything. You only hear a fighter talk about ring rust after a fight because it's an excuse. We're in the gym performing, sparring partners are getting beat up and there's no excuse to not take it into a real fight.
We've been training all year for this fight so I'm feeling really good. I can't wait to get in there and start punching.
"I've seen Badou up close and personal and as of yet, we can't find anything that will cause me a problem. We plan to take the belt back to the UK,". "I think I'm better than him in most aspects. If I go out and perform it's an easy night's work for[...]
I like the fact that he's come to the U.S. and has made a home out here, there's bravery in that. He's latched on to a successful camp but ultimately you have to stand on your own two feet in the ring.
Since I was seven years old I've dreamed of becoming a world champion. I've had ups and downs in boxing but it's all come full circle.
I think I know more than enough about Jack. I've seen him box live against Anthony Dirrell and I've studied him on tape. There's a lot to like about him.
"I have challenged for world titles and I have sold out stadiums, but my true childhood dream of winning a world title is yet to be fulfilled. I get that chance on the Las Vegas Strip – the crème de la crème for any fighter on the planet. I cannot w[...]
''I'm looking forward to getting back in the ring,''.
"It was amazing to be back boxing and back winning,". "After the win I looked into Froch's eyes and he looked back into mine from ringside. I've got a bright future ahead of me and if Carl Froch wants to carry on boxing, I'm happy, willing, ready an[...]
"Third fight with me? You know if it was 1-1, in two close fights, then you have the decider,". "If I'm going to have the decider with anyone, it's got to be Mikkel Kessler.
''I am thrilled to be back boxing on Sky Sports,''. "It is a great platform for boxing in the UK. Over the years I have made a lot of friends within the company and created a base of fantastic fans with the help of their exposure. I'm sure with thei[...]
